Thermometer and tissues, everyday care at home

Start with the care you need

Living outside Edmonton or Calgary can make getting to a clinic a bigger part of your day. A virtual appointment may be an option for some non-emergency concerns, but a physician must decide whether an in-person assessment is needed. DR Now connects patients in Alberta with Medicine Place through secure Medeo booking. It does not replace your local emergency department or promise that every concern can be managed online.

Five appointment types, one local clinic

Medicine Place offers Everyday Care, Men's & Sexual Health, Prescription and Medication Care, Skin Care, and Women's Health. Choose the category that best fits your reason for booking. These are appointment types, not guaranteed treatments. A physician may recommend an examination, tests or another care setting after speaking with you. Prescriptions are only provided when clinically appropriate.

Plan around your location

Before booking from a farm, small town or rural community, choose a private place where your device has a reliable connection. Know your current location and have a way to reach local in-person care if the physician recommends it. A virtual service cannot guarantee that you will avoid travel. Appointment availability is shown during booking; DR Now does not promise same-day or round-the-clock visits.

Check coverage before you continue

The site lists $0 for eligible insured visits with Alberta Health coverage and $75 CAD per consultation without eligible coverage. These prices apply to the Alberta service. Confirm eligibility and any additional uninsured-service fees before completing your booking. Your health card and clinical information belong in the secure clinic workflow, not in a website contact message. For urgent or life-threatening symptoms, call 911.

常见问题

Do I need high-speed internet for a virtual visit?

A stable connection is enough for video. If video is unreliable, tell the clinic; a phone visit may be possible when appropriate.

Can a rural patient get lab tests ordered virtually?

Yes, when appropriate. Tests are done at an Alberta laboratory near you.

What if the physician says I need to be seen in person?

The physician will explain where to go, such as your local clinic, urgent care or emergency department.
